Streetscape Symphony

The New Museum

Streetscape Symphony is an interactive audio installation exploring New York City’s five boroughs for the New Museum’s IdeasCity festival. IdeasCity explores the future of cities around the globe with the belief that arts and culture are essential to the vitality of urban centers, making them better places to live, work, and play. The overarching theme is “Untapped Capital”: under-recognized and underutilized resources and surpluses that can be harnessed as catalysts for change. Streetscape Symphony highlights the often-neglected aspect of sonic design in public spaces, in collaboration with Gabe Liberti, Dave Rife, Lauren Sinreich, and Kevin Siwoff.
