Mobile Performance Venue
Times Square Alliance
Designed in response to an invitation by the Times Square Alliance, the Mobile Performance Venue offers an innovative solution for the frequent small performances that energize Times Square, while providing an after-hours facility for secure storage. The prefabricated structures are intended to be positioned as needed and provide both adaptability and security in the presentation of Times Square’s daily public programming.
The Performance Venues create smaller environments within the larger open spaces of the Times Square pedestrian plazas, specifically in the area known as “the Bowtie”
(where Broadway crosses Seventh Avenue between 42nd and 47th Streets). Through an ongoing dialogue with the Times Square Alliance’s creative team as well as engineers and transportation specialists, the Venue design was refined and adapted to fit perfectly into the overall redevelopment master plan.
