Women Architects in Salzburg

Künstlerhaus

The exhibition Women Architects in Salzburg–a Search for Traces is dedicated to the contributions of women architects in Salzburg spanning the beginning of the 20th century to the present. As recent histories have shown, women have been involved in architecture, the sciences, and a host of other male-dominated fields, but their contributions are often overlooked. It was only since 1919 that women were admitted to Architecture schools in Austria. The exhibition features portraits of 22 women architects including pioneers Margarethe Schütte-Lihotzky and Anna Lülja Praun.
